Mango: Languages Made Fun

Mango Language Learning Center

Do you want a fun new way to learn a language? Do you want an extensive look into the grammar and the impacts of culture on the spoken word? Do you need a quick refresher, or just want to give a language a quick glance and listen to pass an hour? Mango can fulfill every one of those desires.

A new service offered by the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative, Mango is now free to library members. You can log in effortlessly at a library computer, or use your card to log in at home. The website is exceptionally simple to navigate, and if you run into any trouble, help is a very simple mouse click away.

Mango currently offers over 40 languages to learn and ESL courses in 15 languages. It includes popular languages like Spanish, Chinese, and French; scholarly languages such as Latin and Ancient Greek; and even off-the-wall courses like Pirate (I grew up in Renaissance Festivals and I learned some new stuff from their Pirate course - color me impressed).

Did I mention this is all free for library members?

I highly encourage everyone to take full advantage of this remarkable resource. It makes learning the language fun, and you learn on so many levels at once that you don't even realize how much you are abosrbing. Give it a try today!
